1. What
is the admission process?
In order to be eligible
to pursue any academic programs in offer, candidate
has to attain minimum 18 yrs. and above and should meet
the eligibility criteria as of given courses. Admission
are taken twice a year: i) January intake and ii) July intake.
2. What
is the mode of payment?
Students can pay their
fee in cash to the study centre or by banker’s draft
payable to ‘ICA Pvt. Ltd.’ or by Telegraphic transfer
into the organization account. Full payment of yearly/semester course fee + admission charge at admission time.
3. What
does the course fee includes?
The course fee includes
cost of : i) Study materials(take away) ii) Admission
Fee iii) Video materials iv) Face to Face Counseling
fee v) Practical/Project fee as & where required.
4. Who
awards the degree and is it a recognised degree?
IGNOU awards the degree/certification
for the courses. Its Program and qualification enjoy
recognition by academic and Professional institutions
as well as by industry and commerce. It is fully recognized
in the entire Common Wealth Member countries and many
American colleges and Universities have accepted its
courses for credit transfer.
5. Who
conducts the examinations and where?
Examination is conducted
by University through our Partner Institution at Nepal
under the Super-vision of Embassy of India, Kathmandu
at two examination center i.e. Kathmandu & Dharan.
6. What
is the weightage system?
All the courses follow
evaluation system based on two components:- i) Continuous
evaluation in form of periodic assignments, which carries
30% weightage. ii) Term-End Examination (Final
Examination) carry 70% weightage,which is conducted
twice a year in the month of June and December. The
students are at liberty to appear at any of the examination
conducted by the university during the year subject
to completing the minimum time frame prescribed for
the program pursue.
7. Is
mandatory to attend the counseling class?
For non practical oriented
courses face to face counseling attendance is not mandatory
but it is advisable to attend as many counseling session
as possible for better and effective understanding of
the subject. For practical oriented courses, 75% attendance
is mandatory in practical session.
8. Is
transfer of study center possible?
Yes, candidates already
enrolled to IGNOU can transfer from any IGNOU study
centre/Partner Institute to PI-9601, Nepal or vise-a
- versa provided the courses/program is in offer in
the respective study centre/PI.
9. What
is Credit?
The University follows
the ‘credit system’ for most of its programmes. Each
credit in our system is equivalent to 30 hrs. of study
comprising all learning activities (i.e. reading and
comprehending the print material, listening to audio,
watching video, attending counseling sessions and writing
assignments responses). Thus an eight credit course
involves 240 hours of study. This helps the learners
to know the academic effort one has to put in, to successfully
complete a course.
10. Can
i get my fees refund after admission?
Fee once paid will
not be refunded under any circumstances. It is also
not adjustable against any other programme of this University.
How ever in cases where University denies admission,
the programme fee will be refunded only after deducting
prospectus and registration fee.
11. What
is Credit transfer and the modalities of Credit Transfer
of IGNOU?
Credit transfer means allowing a student of another university to get
admitted to IGNOU for completing any equivalent degree
/diploma programme on the basis of credits obtained
by him/her from that University.
12.Modalities
of Credit Transfer?
a. Normally credit transfer will be applicable only from
a diploma, bachelor’ degree, masters to an equivalent
diploma, bachelor’s degree and a post graduate degree.b. Credit transfer is permissible only in the case of students coming from accredited institutions.
c. Credit transfer can be done only on the basis of individual courses and on the basis of year to courses as in conventional institutions.
d. In order to get a diploma / degree from IGNOU a student will specifically indicate the credits in IGNOU and those obtained from other institution.
e. The degree certificate or the marks list thus given to the students will specifically indicate the credits earned in IGNOU and those obtained from other institution.
f. Those students who have done TS-1 and TS-2 in CTS have to write to the register , SR and E Division for getting these credits transferred to DTS or BTS .Same is applicable for any other course done from IGNOU which forms part of the BTS programme. 13. Is B.Ed program offer in July Session?
B.ED program is not on offer in July session it is only on offer in January session for which admission commences from July & ends in October.
14. Are the graduate holder obtaining below 50% eligible to enroll in management program without any experience?
No, One should have three years of professional/supervisory experience to join management program if the percentage is below 50% in bachelor degree.
15. Learner having two year of teaching experience but currently not in service teacher. Is she/he eligible to enroll in B.Ed programs?
Since, B.Ed program includes practical components learner needs to be currently in service teacher in order to enroll in B.Ed program.
16. What happen if a learner is debarred from Examination due to unfairmeans case?
If A candidate is debarred from appearing any one or more subjects for a specified time by the unfairmeans committee of the University then the learner should not appear for examination of any subjects beside the subjects he/she has been debarred from during that entire period of debarration, since no results will be declared and the learner will have to reappear for those subjects after the debarration period is over.
17. Is Diploma holder eligible to enroll in Master/Post-Graduate program of IGNOU?
No, Learner should have three years Bachelor Degree to enroll in Master/Post Graduate Diploma program of IGNOU.
18. Is 2 years bachelor degree holder eligible to enroll in Master/Post Graduate Diploma Program of IGNOU?
No, Learner should have three years Bachelor Degree to enroll in Master / Post Graduate program of IGNOU. Those who possess two year bachelor degree must undergo a Bridge course of one year duration from where they have obtained their degree.
19. What is the Procedure of submitting Practical based subject Report of B.ED Program?
> Workshop Based Practical (ES-382) need to be submit in 1st& 2nd year. > 1st year Students only have to submit the Workshop-I i.e. Workshop Based Practical-I (ES-382)
> 2nd year Students need to be submit Workshop based Practical-II(ES-382) along with ES-381(School Based Practical) & Practice Teaching(ES-383)
All Practical Component Report should be binded separately and submitted separately .
