IGNOU awarded A PlusPlus(A++) grade

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has been awarded the highly prestigious A PlusPlus (A++) grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) on 19th January 2021. The accreditation was presented by the Honorable Education Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal (Nishank) along with the delegation committee led by NAAC.

NAAC is an autonomous institution of the University Grants Commission (UGC) which partners with various State Governments and professional bodies to create an advocacy for assessment and accreditation. The peer team of NAAC conducted an assessment of IGNOU from 5th January to 7th January, 2021. The evaluation was based on various factors like, Curriculum, Teaching- Learning- Evaluation Methods, Infrastructure & Learning Resources, Governance- Leadership &Management, Institutional Values & Best Practices and Research, Innovations and Extension. From the overall criteria, the university was awarded A++ grade, which is the highest accreditation level offered by the Council.

On the closing day, the inspection team handed over the esteemed accreditation to the university and congratulated the team for their hard earned accomplishment. Prof. Nageshwor Rao, the Vice Chancellor of IGNOU expressed his gratitude to NAAC and Education Ministry on behalf of the university for their continuous support. He further shared that this level of ranking will continue to motivate the university to provide heightened quality of education.
