A special discussion session on ‘Big Data Computing Trends’ was organized by International Centre for Academics (ICA) on 27th May, 2023 via Zoom. The main focus of this online event was to throw some lights on the latest trends in Big Data Computing and Applications, which was delivered by Prof. Sandeep Singh Rawat- Professor, School of Computer and Information Sciences at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. 

Prof. Rawat highlighted on the most recent developments in big data which includes the use of AI and ML in advanced analytics, the proliferation of edge computing to process data closer to its point of origin, and the widespread acceptance of cloud storage and processing in the session. Furthermore, the usage of big data in the Health care, Financial and Transportation sector was also discussed so that the participants could relate to the subject matter. The session was concluded by emphasizing on the Data-driven decision making and industry wide innovation as two major outcomes which have been possible by big data.
