On March-10-2013, International Center for Academics (ICA), PI: 9602 organized a game simulation workshop named as Entrepreneurial & Business Skills Simulation Workshop.

This workshop was targeted towards the learners of ICA and it was participated by learners, counselors of ICA and professionals outside of ICA as well. This workshop was conducted by Mr. Hermann Rune – Country Representative and Senior Advisor at Rural Microfinance Development Centre (RMDC), Kathmandu, Nepal. Rune has been conducting such workshops at various organizations in Nepal and abroad for over 5 years.

Due to the nature of the Game Simulation, we allowed only 18 participants to participate. The main rationale behind the workshop was to provide firsthand experience of starting up a business and operating that business. This simulation was mainly meant for first time business entrepreneurs. 6 groups were created with 3 participants in each group who worked as a team to set up and run the business.

The simulation exercise involved business setup, business forecasting, market expansion, risk analysis, distribution channel expansion and product line extension.

On the later part of the event, the Chairperson of ICA Mr. Biswajit Mukherjee distributed certificates to all the participants and a special token of appreciation was gifted to Mr. Hemann Rune for his efforts and support towards the event.

The event was concluded with closing remarks from the CEO of ICA, Mr. Amit Giri by thanking Mr. Hermann Rune, the participants and event officials along with the vow to provide full support for setting up a Research-Unit at ICA.

The entire participants thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and they all commented that such event is very useful for startup businesses and enhanced their knowledge about entrepreneurship and business skills. They also suggested making this event compulsory for BBA & MBA students so that they can enhance their entrepreneurial skills
