CA, PI-9602, Partner institution of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), world largest open University, conducted a two day interaction program for the students of Bachelor in social work (BSW) and Master in social work (MSW) at its premises in Gyaneswor , Kathmandu on 24th and 25th June 2010. The chief Speaker of the program was Prof. Gracious Thomas, Director, School of Social Work (IGNOU), New Delhi, India.
On the first day of interaction, student studying social work in different universities of Nepal were invited to interact with Prof. Thomas. During the interaction program, Prof. Thomas focused on the scope of social work, field work, practicum etc. At the end of the day, there was a separate interaction session with counselor associated with social work at ICA.
On the second day, the students enrolled in BSW/MSW program of IGNOU through ICA were invited to interact with Prof. Thomas. During the open session that day, students had an opportunity to clarify all their doubts regarding various aspects of the course.
The program was extremely beneficial to students teachers and administrators involved in social welfare programs in Nepal.
